The Seiko 5 GMT SSK001 is what many people have been waiting for, for a very long time: a great, well-made, versatile sports watch with a mechanical (automatic) GMT movement. That is of course not impossible to find, however the big difference with the SSK001 is that it's also reasonably priced. It's a true all-rounder with 100m water resistance, unidirectional bezel and a comfortable 42.5mm case (excluding crown), stylish 5-row bracelet and a modest 46mm lug to lug distance. The beautiful dial is protected by Hardlex mineral glass.Under the hood is the mechanical (automatic) Seiko in-house Cal. 4R34 movement, with a day indicator at 3 o'clock (enlarged with a date loupe) but most importantly, also featuring a red GMT hand.
